The Detroit Area

Located only 15 miles from the Canadian border, you will receive a warm welcome from friendly staff at our Detroit hotel. We’re central, off I-75, between the Detroit Metro Airport and the city, 13 miles from each. Consider making this your hub. We are 100% non-smoking. After a comfortable night in one of our spacious rooms, you’ll wake to a healthy and hearty Bright Side Breakfast®, served with your choice of hot and cold selections, unlimited juices, and a bottomless cup of coffee. Sports fans appreciate we’re only 15 miles to both Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, and Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions. You’re never out of touch with our free Wi-Fi high-speed Internet access.

Known as both the Motor City and Motown, Detroit has been wrapped up in the automobile industry since the days of Henry Ford and at the cutting edge of the music industry for decades. The Detroit International Riverfront incorporates more than three miles of parks from the financial district to MacArthur Bridge, which leads to the nation’s largest urban island park, Belle Isle. Visiting all the prominent museums, such as the Detroit Institute of the Arts, could take hours. Entertainment and the performing arts have a healthy presence in Detroit; we have more theater than any American city outside New York; and we offer several jazz festivals held throughout the year. The historic district, known as Greektown, is a great place to catch some music and to enjoy the nightlife.

Hotel Services and Amenities

Our hotel offers good value plus a friendly, helpful, and efficient staff, as well as a pet-friendly  policy. Guest rooms are spacious and clean with very comfortable beds. Each room is well equipped with free Internet access via Wi-Fi, new Samsung flat-panel televisions with 30 HD channels, a coffeemaker, hairdryer, alarm clock, iron and ironing board, a dataport phone, free local calls, and voicemail service.  Parking for cars, trucks, and buses at the hotel is free for overnight guests, and we have a pet-friendly policy as well. Local Attractions

Distances to attractions, businesses, major sports arenas, and shopping from Southgate are very reasonable; we’re no more than 15 miles from wherever you are likely to be headed. The Southland Mall is only one mile away, with more dining options in addition to the several right at our doorstep.  If outlet shopping is on your agenda, Manufacturers Marketplace Outlet is 30 miles away.  Wayne Community College is a ten-minute walk; the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village is 10 miles from us; and the Canadian border is a mere 15 miles. With a location right off I-75, it’s quick and easy to reach anywhere you might want to go without delay.
